What is the difference between a "subscription" and a "perpetual" license?

A subscription license lasts for one year and needs to be renewed every year. The renewal can be automatic and worry free if you wish or you can cancel it.  The subscription also gives you automatic upgrades to the latest version from the software itself.  You do not need to do a thing to have the latest version as long as your subscription is active.

 

A perpetual license never expires.  However, you do not get the upgrade free of charge and in order to get an upgrade at a reduced price, you need to purchase one within two version cycles.  The support life for any version of Stat/Transfer is our most current version and one version back.  You may not receive upgrade pricing unless you have had an eligible perpetual license previously.

 

Both licenses are restricted to your own personal use.  They both may be installed on a maximum of three personal PC's and will not operate over a network, cloud, or any sort of server.  You must buy the network (lease) license to utilize this functionality.  It is a good idea to make a backup of the download as well as to always remember to deactivate the software from a machine before attempting to decommission it so that you may free up an activation.  This can be done within the software itself.
